First off. I'm a former photojournalist myself, so this was a dream contract for me. I've used Nikons all my life and love them! For the D6 landing page, we had a basic template to work with from their previously branded site. Being their flagship DSLR, I wanted to bring in a design system that looked more "National Geographic." Something that directly spoke to the working feild photojournalist. Luckily, the team at Nikon was onboard. We just had to hit deadline.
I designed three templates is InDesign and ultimately, Figma where I bulit the library system, to run past their amazing Creative Director. She had some amazing insights and we were able to move quickly because of her clear direction. Based on that, I gave the team a total of 12 layout options designed in Figma.
We launched on time and because of the great communication between their teams and we've started an updated social media campaign for the D6.
